Politics Of The Flint Water Crisis

Never let a good tragedy go to waste

Democrats always get excited over a good crisis and the Flint water crisis is no exception. It is something that they can use to push their agenda and Rep. Kildee is an expert at that. Now someone who truly represented the people would have been on this from the very beginning checking into the problem and offering up solutions. Rep. Kildee however was silent on this issue for more than a year after it first occurred. It wasn’t until Rachel Maddow directly pointed blame at Gov. Snyder that Rep. Kildee saw how he could use this to his advantage.

You see, he has his sights set on becoming the governor of Michigan after his third term as congressman. The timing of this couldn’t have been more perfect because after three terms, he’s eligible for a retirement pension through the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). In an interview from June 20, 2015, Rep Kildee stated that he likes his position in congress but if the opportunity would arise for him to advance to the governorship he would consider it.

An opportunity in the making

When the left started blaming Gov Snyder for this disaster, Rep. Kildee saw this as the opportunity he’d been waiting for. He used this information to further point blame on the state and specifically Gov. Snyder in fact helping to create the opportunity to bring him closer to the governorship. The fact is that no investigations had been done as of yet of who was to blame but they still wanted to crucify the closest Republican.

What they don’t want you to know is that Democrats ran Flint for over 40 years in all phases of government. Also lead pipes were banned for use for drinking water since 1984. Why wasn’t the problem dealt with when they were bringing in all the tax money from the auto factory workers. Instead they squandered it and neglected the city’s infrastructure. Their bad choices of using taxpayer money has led up to a contributing factor in this crisis.

Just like I said in one of my talking points in the last election which is as true today as it was then, “keep voting Democrat and you will keep getting more of the same”.
